About This Venue
Nottoway Plantation is the largest antebellum mansion in the South, a magnificent 64-room estate built in 1859 on the banks of the Mississippi River in White Castle, about 30 minutes south of Baton Rouge. The White Ballroom, with its soaring white columns, ornate plasterwork, and crystal chandeliers, is one of the most breathtaking event spaces in Louisiana.
The plantation grounds include centuries-old live oaks, formal gardens, and sweeping river views that provide ceremony and reception backdrops straight from a storybook. Guest cottages on the property allow wedding parties and VIPs to stay on the grounds. The on-site restaurant provides full catering with menus rooted in Louisiana culinary tradition. While the drive from Baton Rouge adds logistics, the sheer grandeur of Nottoway makes it worth the trip for celebrations where the venue defines the experience.
