Lussier Family Heritage Center

The Lussier Family Heritage Center is a Dane County nature center perched on the shore of Lake Waubesa in Capital Springs State Recreation Area. The building’s most striking feature is a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that frame unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding restored prairie landscape.

The main hall accommodates up to 100 seated guests in a bright, airy environment filled with natural light. A wraparound deck extends the usable space outdoors, and walking trails through the prairie and wetlands offer guests a chance to explore during events. As a county-operated facility, rental rates are very affordable, and the space includes basic tables, chairs, and a small kitchen. Outside catering is permitted. The natural setting makes it an ideal choice for nature lovers planning birthday parties, reunion cookouts, graduation celebrations, and casual corporate retreats away from the city center.
